Dear All,

I meet a problem relating IPNAT, and need your
   help.

   Thanks in advance.

The situation is:

(1) My customer has one head-office and about 200
    branches.
(2) The head-office Lan is denoted by 10.10.110.0/24.
(3) Each branch also has a Lan. i-th branch Lan
denoted by 10.100.i.0/24. For example, the first
branch has its Lan as 10.100.1.0/24. The second
branch has its Lan as 10.100.2.0/24.

(4) The head-office Lan and all branch Lans are
    corrected through BroadBand Link (10.100.0.0/24).

The diagram is show as (Only the 251-th Branch is
fingured out)

|
| |---------|
| 10.10.110.1 | Broad | 10.100.0.201
|--------------| Band |----------.........
| | Server | |
| |---------| |
| | LAN
| | |------
| | |
| 10.100.0.251 | | 10.100.251.1
| |--------------|
| | Branch 251 |
| | Win2k Server |
| |--------------|
|
|
|
| 10.10.110.2 |--------------|
|---------------| FTP Server |
| | (Solaris) |
| |--------------|

|--------------| DataBase Server |
               | ( ORALCE ) |
               |-----------------|

Due to the unstable of BroadBank Link in sometimes,
I am required to enhance the company's network.

(5) In Win2k Server in each branch, one external
modem is installed, and RAS in Win2k Server is
    enabled.

 (6) A new Terminal Server is installed in HeadOffice
Lan. That Terminal Server is a SunSparc 10,
running Solaris 8, with 16 external modems.

 (7) pppd is configured in Terminal Server:
 (8) ip_forwarding = 1 is set in the Terminal Server.

 (9) ipfilter is installed and enabled in the Terminal
Server. Only the following IPNAT rules is applied

map hme0 192.168.0.0/16
       ---> 10.10.110.86/32 proxy port ftp ftp/tpc
map hme0 192.168.0.0/16
       ---> 10.10.110.86/32 portmap tcp/udp
10000:40000
map hme0 192.168.0.0/16
       ---> 10.10.110.86/32

Now, manually break down the BroadBand Link between
the Terminal Server and the Win2k Server in Branch
251, and dialing to the Win2k Server from the
Terminal Server. A TCP/IP connection is successfully

set up over the PPP link.

In Win2k Server, following route is added:

       Destination gateway
       --------------- ------------
       10.10.110.0/24 192.168.251.2
       10.10.111.0/24 192.168.251.2

In Terminal Server, two routes are added :

       Destination gateway
       ---------------- ----------------
       192.168.251.1 192.168.251.2
       10.100.0.251 192.168.251.1
       10.100.251.0/24 192.168.251.1

The new diagram is show as following figure:

 Now, I can:
        (10) From Win2k Server: ftp 10.10.110.2
             The IPNAT really works fine.

 But, my problems are:

(11) When Win2k Server and FTP server is doing FTP
through PPP link, or after Win2k Server and
FTP Server have performed FTP through PPP link

  (11.1) From Win2k Server: ping 10.10.110.2
will make the Terminal Server auto-reboot !!!

         In the other hand,
             ftp/telnet 10.10.110.2 works fine
             ftp/telnet/ping 10.10.110.3 works fine

(11.2) From Terminal Server: ping 10.10.110.2
will make the Terminal Server auto-reboot !!

         In the other hand,
            ftp/telnet 10.10.110.2 works fine
            ftp/telnet/ping 10.10.110.3 works fine

----------------------------------------------------

Why those happen ?

What and where should I do to perform successfully the
above failed actions ?

Note: Two attached files are:

(1) ipnat-debug.txt: consisting of the following
generated message in the Terminal Server:
          uname -a
          isainfo -vk
          ifconfig -a
          netstat -rn
          netstat -i

          ipf -V
          ipfstat
          ipfstat -io
          ipnat -slv
(2) messages: which is the /var/adm/messages in
    the Terminal Server (Solaris 8)
