Nic, I am so feeling your pain right now. I think that I am almost to the point where I can get external users to connect and interact. HOWEVER, I am still seeing some very strange issues.
Ipswitch the rest is for you- * This port 5178 no where in any of my logs do I see this port being used. Exactly when is it used? * I've noticed that when at home and when I connect to the IM server I can see the connection going out on 5177 and this connection remains open. However when a message is sent to me, or I change my status or any other interaction with the IM server a see another connection going out to the IM server on port 5177 again. Here is a copy of my log (note the only thing I did was connect to the Im server and it made three different connections the first one is the persistent connection) 2,[07/Feb/2003 07:02:36] Rule 'IMClient': Permitted: Out TCP, localhost:2228->www.newfoundtechnologies.com [12.32.70.211:5177], Owner: C:\PROGRAM FILES\IPSWITCH IM\IMCLIENT.EXE 2,[07/Feb/2003 07:02:37] Rule 'IMClient': Permitted: Out TCP, localhost:2229->www.newfoundtechnologies.com [12.32.70.211:5177], Owner: C:\PROGRAM FILES\IPSWITCH IM\IMCLIENT.EXE 2,[07/Feb/2003 07:02:37] Rule 'IMClient': Permitted: Out TCP, localhost:2230->www.newfoundtechnologies.com [12.32.70.211:5177], Owner: C:\PROGRAM FILES\IPSWITCH IM\IMCLIENT.EXE ----- Original Message ----- From: "nic. schellekens" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, February 07, 2003 5:41 AM Subject: [IpswitchIM_Forum] the goings-on > First of all, I want to thank all at Ipswitch for their support.
