There are two causes for the conversation not scrolling to the newest message:
1. something in the conversation window has been selected 2. the conversation was minimized at some point during the conversation. When the user clicks on the conversation in the task bar to maximize the conversation, IIM remembers where the user was when the conversation was minimized, so that they can read from where they left off.
