Sorta makes you feel good about the efficiency of the FCC when a station operates without a license for four years... And you wonder why they don't have time to keep tabs on stations using day facilities at night...

There was dialogue between the FCC and WOOW in the interim, just to be nitpicky - here's what the app for STA said:

THE COMMISSION CANCELLED THE LICENSE FOR WOOW DUE TO THE LICENSEE'S FAILURE TO FILE A RENEWAL APPLICATION BY AUGUST 1, 2003. ON MARCH 31, 2004, WOOW FILED A RENEWAL APPLICATION IN FCC FILE NUMBER BR-20040331AQP, AND ON APRIL 2, 2004, THE COMMISSION GRANTED THE LICENSEE AN STA TO CONTINUE OPERATIONS IN FCC FILE NUMBER BLSTA-20040329ANO. HOWEVER, THE LICENSEE'S RENEWAL APPLICATION WAS DISMISSED ON JANUARY 28, 2005 DUE THE LICENSEE'S RED LIGHT STATUS AS DETERMINED BY THE COMMISSION'S OFFICE OF MANAGING DIRECTOR. AND, ON OCTOBER 2, 2004, WOOW'S STA EXPIRED WITHOUT RENEWAL. ON DECEMBER 7, 2005, THE COMMISSION GRANTED WOOW A NEW STA, WHICH ALSO EXPIRED WITHOUT RENEWAL ON JUNE 7, 2006. AFTER A VISIT BY THE FCC'S FIELD OFFICE, ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2007, WOOW WENT OFF THE AIR AND CURRENTLY REMAINS OFF THE AIR.

THE LICENSEE RECENTLY ENGAGED COUNSEL TO ASSIST WITH THIS MATTER, AND CONTEMPORANEOUSLY WITH THE INSTANT FILING, THE LICENSEE FILED A NEW LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION FOR WOOW.
