it all sounds very familiarly like the same situatio
that I encountered 2 years ago when I was robbed
too..... I tried to get enough lighting , security,
police to step patrol near UNSW and police patrol near
the kingsford and kensington area.... alot of
robberies are happening and it seemed that not much
energy is spent to protect the citizens than on the
iraq issue.... there was very a short momentum by tne
uni to step security, I guess it died out after a
while... and the police was supposed to turn up for a
dialogue with the ISD but they did not ... and that
died off too? After alot of appeals to the chancellor
and the university to make UNSW a safer place to study
instead of fearing for our belongings seemed to have
failed! I wonder how long will it take, yeah? Hope
the present students will form a neighbour kind of
watch to protect each other as no one seemed to
looking for our interests........ the robbers and evil
doers are phD holders in their own profession and of
course, they know that the authorities are not doing
anything and naturally it will becpme a boom time for
them to flourish in their trade and make a quick buck
off all the intl students who are already burdened
with transport costs and housing and all the lot which
is the human right of every human being in this
planet!... take care!

Hey,
I live on kennedy street.. I know that middle street,
meek street area, when you are coming up from
kingsford is very dark at night and also the library
steps up to kennedy street has a lot of trees and not
very well litted.
I have been thinking about it...i.e to write a letter
to the city council to tell them about the problem and
urge them to install more lights....

I will write a letter myself.. because i live in the
area.. However, maybe for it to be more effective,
those concerned could write letters to them too.. or
call...or fax...

(more people affected will have more effect , i
guess.. so if many people complain, they will take
actions faster..)

I think kingsford is under randwick city council...

Here's the address.....
