Jamal
,
Have a
look at this .... I have traced a lot of sites through the STM1 link , and all
go through 203.208.147.85 , which is located in Singapore . So basically , PTCL
goes to Singapore , and from there on possibly travels within the Singtel
network to core , and then takes Genuity , Exodus , Level3 or other
backbone to the US . For the East coast , this is the longest possible trip as
you travel not 50% around the globe but nearly 70% around the globe . Not only
is the PTCL connectivity design flawed towards the delivery side , but also is a
completely ineffecient . Moreso , I dont know what PTCL means " Qwest backbone
" , I confirmed this from other sources and was told this is "Genuity"
backbone .... but lets call spade a spade.... this is SINGTEL backbone routed
out of SINGAPORE ! This is also accounts for the high round trip delays
etc . Either I think this current situation is a temporary
situation ... or else PTCL has really messed up on this one !

Please
do investigate this further , as this circuit route is quite interesting . Whats
even more interesting is that these nodes like 203.208.147.85 have not even been named .

Dear Member ISPAK,AoA, We would welcome the feed-back from Mr.Jamal Nasir Khan Chairman Technical Committee and his members the feed-back to play best role of all ISP on the subject . Each and every ISP is requested to do the needful as follow in the best interest of Pakistan. Please let me know your confirmation . Best regards,Sanaullah Bhutta. Besides caching procedure I would like to make a request, if you could
evaluate the possibility of free mirroring of our website on all ISP Servers
of Pakistan. This procedure may require some motivational words from you to
all ISP owners. The site requires mirroring from now till 30 October 2001.
The technicalities of this procedure can be further worked out by a joint
effort by all of us.-----Original Message-----
