I have a Novell Groupwise mail system that exchanges mail with an older HP
system running HP-UX that RealSecure fires a constant stream of TCP_Overlap_Data
alerts for. I have changed the NICs and cables for both machines and the hub
that connects them with no effect. I think this is a MTU Frame Size issue that
I cannot fix since these systems have unique, non-changable and conflicting MTU
size settings. One of the two driver/stack implementations must be broken to
produce this problem.

Hello everybody,

Has anybody received a TCP_Overlap_Data that was clearly not a malicious
intent but appearently what ISS calls "egregiously malfunctioning network
equipment" ?
I would need to locate the malfunctioning part of the network (provided that
it is really the case) in order to avoid reoccurence of this alert that
could raise also a RS reaction on the partner side.

Thanks in advance to anybody that could share its experience on the
subject and best regards,

EL
