You are correct, in fact System Scanner 4.0 does run on Windows 2000 but has
not been validated so it is an 'unofficial' platform. However we have not
encountered the 'MDAC' problem on WIN2K but our testing for 4.0 has been
limited. My understanding is that MDAC 2.5 is part of Service Pack 1 for
Windows 2000.
System Scanner 4.1 is being validated on Windows NT and Windows 2000 and
will be 'officially' supported on both platforms.

comes with MDAC 2.5 out of the box. And it doesn't appear that you can
