Johanne: Check your RealSecure license key and make sure your "Maintenance Date" has
not expired. Once you have passed this date you are not able to install any XPUs that
are more recent than that date and you do not see them in the list of available
updates even when you place them in the correct directory.

Sinao: You said that you were getting some sort of message regarding a "plug-in". How
are you trying to download the XPU - using a browser or using the RealSecure built-in
download function? If you are using the built-in function then try your browser and
see what result you get (no its not a solution just an experiment). If you are using a
browser then it sounds like your browser is trying to find an appropriate plug-in for
the ".xpu" filetype or it already has some plugin registered for this filetype and it
doesn't know what to do with the XPU because its the wrong format. You could try
forcing the browser to save the link content rather than trying to interpret it - hold
down "Shift" when you click on the issfile.xpu link and you should get the "Save-as"
dialog.

Hope this helps
-Cameron

I am experiencing the same problem with the Xpress 4.3 release this week. I
downloaded the update as I did for the Xpress 4.2 and placed the file in the
same location. When I initialized the 4.3 update (in the same manner as 4.2)
the program doesn't see the 4.3 update.....only 4.2.
Could it be the format or the process used to compress the updates??????

Okay this might be the fix you are looking for...
First go to where you installed RealSecure and look for a folder called
"Updates". If you don't have a folder in the RealSecure/ISS directory
called "Updates", then do a find on your hard drive for "*.xpu". If you are
wanting to download, for example, the 4.2 xpu, and you find it on your hard
drive, delete it. After deleting it, you should be able to download.

>From my experience, it looks like RealSecure sometimes sticks a READ ONLY
version in a folder (usually called Updates) and that folder is where
RealSecure places the new xpu's and expands them...only it can't because
there is already one there and it is read only.

Let me know if that fixes it.

| This may or may not be pertinent.
|
| I had a problem when I needed to download an .xpu and sneaker net it to an isolated
|box. The file was not being saved with the correct extension. When I attempted to
|download and save the .xpu file, it opened a .zip window

for the destination. When the file arrived, it was named
"filename.xpu.zip". Seems like I had to rename it without the .zip
extension and was able to use it.
