Cody, Using Regmon, it appears the Beta is checking for a registry key that a default install of MSDE would create. In particular, it checks the following registry value entry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\MSSQLServer\CurrentVer sion\CSDVersion For the following data: 8.00.760 If for any reason you do not have that entry, then it will pipe that message. Cheers, ISSUser -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, March 11, 2003 12:50 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [ISSForum] Can't Install Scanner 7 Beta When I check the version on the SQL service manager it shows that I have MSDE 8.00.760 installed and running, but ISS 7 beta will not install... it says "the installed version of SQL server is less than 8.0 service pack 3". Any thoughts? Perhaps the setup has a switch to ignore the MSDE version check?
