Microbenchmarks, like the ones you cited, certainly have their place. However,
do you have _broker-specific_ benchmarks which demonstrate the performance
difference between the two cache implementations? Caffeine may be fast in those
microbenchmarks, but if it doesn't actually make a statistically significant
difference for a real broker use-case then I'm not sure it's worth changing.
