Julian Hyde commented on CALCITE-2024:
--------------------------------------

[~wesmckinn], [~julienledem], [~jnadeau], Please meet [~lemire] who is a CS
prof at University of Quebec who does excellent work in memory-centric
algorithms and (unusually for a CS prof) produces actual, useful, performant,
production quality code; see e.g.
[RoaringBitmap|https://github.com/RoaringBitmap/RoaringBitmap]. Daniel is
interested in contributing to Arrow.

[~lemire], please consider yourself introduced!

> benchmark components to SIGMOD Record or VLDB Journal.
> SIGMOD Record:
> VLDB Journal:

> I will take a lead on this, create an Overleaf document, and invite all
> interested co-authors, up to 8 or 10.
> Target for completion on this is Jan-Feb 2018, with 3000-4000 words. We
> could also target on of the big conferences, and also look to submit extended

> over both on their advice on this.
