[~julianhyde] you often mention "people who use Calcite", however do you have 
statistics on those persons?
Are they using Calcite as a library?
Are they using Calcite through JDBC API?
Have they ever seen Calcite execution plans?
Does Calcite use "x >= NULL" notation in output?

I'm sure Calcite uses >=(..., NULL) notation everywhere (execution plans, test 
data, etc), so I'm perfectly sure the ones who do read changelog would 
perfectly get what >=(..., NULL) is.
