Otavio Rodolfo Piske commented on CAMEL-24394:
----------------------------------------------
Thanks for looking at this one Karol!
Here's my suggestions:
# I think we could define this on a new component, `ai-resources` or something
similar that is consistent withe the current tools one.
# Keep it simple for v1, but plan for extension in the future. MCP resources
are not that popular, and I believe we don't (yet) have a reason to
overengineer.
# Same as before, I'd keep it simple and see how it evolves.
# +1 for reuse the tags
# I think it needs to cascade well from Core, to CSB and CEQ, so my suggestion
is to plan and discuss first. Let's see if we can get some sponsors in CSB/CEQ
interested on this and try to coordinate a joint effort.
# I'd say prompts are not that important right now, but we can consider them
as part of the SPI design, with a potential implementation in the future.
I also think it would be good to get additional thoughts from [~fmariani] ,
[~jondruse] and [~zbendhiba] on this.
> camel-mcp-server: should add support for MCP resources

> Priority: Major
>
> It seems that the Camel MCP server only supports exposing routes as MCP
> tools. Although tools are the most common use case, MCP resources can be
> particularly useful as well - specially in cases when the operation is a
> read-only one to retrieve data (i.e.: think of reading a static file from FTP
> or S3).
