Claus Ibsen created CAMEL-25255:
-----------------------------------
Summary: camel-yaml-io / camel-java-io - model writers: rests,
route templates, interceptors and error handlers not written as their DSL loads
them
Key: CAMEL-25255
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-25255
Project: Camel
Issue Type: Bug
Components: camel-core
Reporter: Claus Ibsen
Found by the fidelity check of the route DSL converter (CAMEL-25254): each
route file of the repo converted to the other DSLs with the model writers
(DefaultDumpRoutesStrategy) and read back. These gaps of the writers make the
converted file not load, or lose part of the route:
YAML writer (camel-yaml-io), the output does not load in the YAML DSL:
* rests are written with a verbs field: "rest: unsupported field: verbs" (e.g.
core/camel-xml-io/src/test/resources/barRest.xml, simpleRest.xml);
* route templates are written with templateParameter: "routeTemplate:
unsupported field: templateParameter" (barTemplate.xml);
camel transform route --format=yaml has the same problem today.
YAML writer, the output loads but differs:
* nested bean property maps are written as {p1=v1a=null, ...}
(beansWithProperties.xml);
* interceptFrom is left out (interceptFrom.xml);
* the steps after an expression EIP end up nested one level differently
(expressionOptions.xml, kamelet.xml).
Java writer (camel-java-io ModelToJavaDumper):
* a route's errorHandler is left out (errorHandlerDefault.xml);
* intercept, interceptFrom, interceptSendToEndpoint are left out;
* the batchConfig options of resequence are left out; a stream resequencer
timeout="2000" is written as 2s0ms;
* the id of from is left out.
The converter refuses the files that would not load and notes the differences,
so nothing is lost silently; fixing the writers turns those into clean
conversions.
