Claus Ibsen created CAMEL-25373:
-----------------------------------
Summary: camel-rest - the unresolved path parameter warning comes
back once a minute, and names an exchange property of that name
Key: CAMEL-25373
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-25373
Project: Camel
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: rest
Reporter: Claus Ibsen
A path parameter with no value is sent as {{\{sku\}}} in the path, and the
producer warns once per parameter, ever (CAMEL-24986). In the local-model
benchmark (r5, contracts-openapi-client steps 2 and 3, both used all 20 tool
calls) the model had replaced {{setHeader sku}} with {{setProperty sku}}. Every
request went to {{/stock/%7Bsku%7D/reserve}} and got a 404. The single warning
was logged at the first call; a noop file consumer then retried the rolled-back
files on every poll, and about 7 MB of errors followed. The model never saw the
warning.
Proposal, keeping the request as it is sent today:
* Log the warning at most once a minute per parameter, not once ever, so it
comes back while the misconfiguration lasts.
* When an exchange property of that name exists, say so: a path parameter is
read from a header or a variable, not from a property; use setHeader.
