Claus Ibsen created CAMEL-25514:
-----------------------------------

Summary: camel-jbang - the validator hints when an XSLT 1.0
stylesheet puts a {expression} in element text
                 Key: CAMEL-25514
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-25514
             Project: Camel
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: camel-jbang
            Reporter: Claus Ibsen
             Fix For: 4.23.0

An attribute value template, {expression}, is evaluated only inside an
attribute value. In element content of an XSLT 1.0 or 2.0 stylesheet (the
camel-xslt default is XSLT 1.0) it is literal text, so
<pieces>{sum(line/@qty)}</pieces> writes the braces and the expression into the
output, with no error. A local model wrote exactly this in the benchmark's
transform-xslt example and did not find the cause in 20 tool calls.

The source validator checks .xsl files already; add a hint for text content
(outside xsl: instructions and attributes) that holds {...} with an
XPath-looking expression: "in element content a {expression} is literal text
(it is evaluated only in an attribute value): use <xsl:value-of
select=\"...\"/>". Not when the stylesheet enables expand-text (XSLT 3.0).
