Claus Ibsen created CAMEL-26352:
-----------------------------------
Summary: camel-diagram - mark the steps with a problem in a route
diagram image, and say what it is
Key: CAMEL-26352
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-26352
Project: Camel
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: camel-jbang, camel-diagram
Reporter: Claus Ibsen
Fix For: 4.24.0
camel cmd route-diagram of a source file draws the routes, but not what is
wrong with them. The checks of camel validate already know: a groovy step that
reads fields of the file as it was read, an endpoint option the component does
not have, a simple expression that does not parse.
Mark such a step in the image: a yellow border and a badge on its card, and the
problem in a callout beside the route. A route with branches (choice,
multicast, doTry) gets a numbered badge on the card and a numbered list of the
problems below the route, as a callout beside it would cross the cards of the
other branches.
The problems of a YAML route are those of camel validate (the YAML DSL schema,
the endpoints and expressions against the catalog, the body flow). For Java and
XML the checks that read the source without compiling it (RouteAssist), as the
route diagram reads Java routes without compiling them.
Add an option --problems to turn it on and off, on by default. The
camel_render_route_diagram MCP tool marks them too.
