Only just for the record: in the context of upgrade to the newest MongoDB
driver version 2.12.0 on the master branch, among other things, I've also
removed *that* NPE catch block, as in the meanwhile the corresponding
[ticket|https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/JAVA-1091] on their side has been fixed.
