As discussed on the camel [mailing

some Kafka implementations such as [IBM Message
Hub|https://console.bluemix.net/docs/services/MessageHub/index.html] require
setting the sasl.jaas.config kafka client parameter, e.g.
{code}
sasl.jaas.config=org.apache.kafka.common.security.plain.PlainLoginModule
required username="USERNAME" password="PASSWORD";
