Jeff commented on CAMEL-18623:
------------------------------

The only documentation on the additionalJavaMailProperties I can find is this
unit test which shows the mail property in the url:

Replacing the inline mail.xxx properties with additionalJavaMailProperties.xxx
had no affect on the DEBUG output or authentication.

Moving the properties to a Properties bean and referencing that in the url with
`additionalJavaMailProperties=#exchangeProperties` also had not affect on debug
output or authentication.

I've also tried adding the mail properties as JVM system properties, and that
also has no affect.

So there appear to be multiple issues with the component. I'm still probably
using it wrong, but the lack of documentation makes using this component for
modern OAuth more complicated than writing a mail client from scratch, so will
I might have to go that route due to time constraints.

> Camel mail component does not appear to work with OAuth2. This seems clear
> from the lack of documentation or unit tests regarding OAuth2, but having
> spent a few hours trying different approaches it seems like the reason it
> doesn't work is that it isn't supported. So maybe this is a new feature
> request if the mail component is indeed not intended to work with OAuth2. If
> it is intended to work with OAuth2, and there is some evidence of this,
> please be so kind as to direct me to it. I would be happy to update the docs
> if this is the case.
> Here is the component for reference:
>
