We try to align our APIs with emerging web standards. There appears to be none
right now related to this.
Audio volume WAS part of the draft System Info API but has been abandoned:
http://dev.w3.org/2009/dap/system-info/#idl-def-AudioDeviceAttributes
New work is in the sysapps working group: http://www.w3.org/2012/sysapps/
This should be part of a non-core plugin that we can adapt to an emerging
standard (whenever that is).
