MartijnVisser opened a new pull request, #329:
URL: https://github.com/apache/flink-connector-kafka/pull/329

   ## What is the purpose of the change

The Confluent Schema Registry e2e test in apache/flink covered `KafkaSource`
and `KafkaSink` with the registry Avro schemas until FLINK-36268 disabled it;
FLINK-32451 rewrites it without Kafka. This adds the Kafka side here, next to
`SQLClientSchemaRegistryITCase`.

   ## Brief change log

     - `flink-confluent-schema-registry-test` builds the job, ported from
apache/flink's `TestAvroConsumerConfluent` with a bounded source
     - `SchemaRegistryDataStreamITCase` writes records with Confluent's
serializer, runs the job, and reads the string output as text and the Avro
output with Confluent's deserializer
     - The job declares Guava's `failureaccess`.
`flink-avro-confluent-registry` excludes it, which is fine for the 7.5.3
registry client it pulls in, but the 7.9.2 client managed here uses a
`LoadingCache` that needs it.

   ## Verifying this change

     - `SchemaRegistryDataStreamITCase` passes against a Flink 2.2.1
distribution on JDK 11, 17 and 21. Without `failureaccess` the job fails with a
`NoClassDefFoundError`.

   ## Does this pull request potentially affect one of the following parts:

     - Dependencies (does it add or upgrade a dependency, including
`kafka.version` or `flink.version`): yes, test only: Guava's `failureaccess` in
the job jar, see above
     - The public API, i.e., is any changed class annotated with
`@Public(Evolving)` or `@Experimental`, or are the Table options or the PyFlink
wrappers changed: no
     - Checkpointed state, its serializers, or exactly-once delivery (splits,
enumerator state, writer state, committables, transactions): no
     - The per-record code paths (split reader, record emitter, writer,
serialization schemas; performance sensitive): no

   ## Documentation

     - Does this pull request introduce a new feature? no
     - If yes, how is the feature documented? not applicable
     - If the docs changed, are both `docs/content` and `docs/content.zh`
updated? not applicable
