Yes, before merging, we should make sure that this contention issue is solved.
Till has picked up your codebase and has started to add on top of it the
non-transparent changes to "pull the actor model up": Have the runtime use the
actors with futures/callbacks properly, and use Akka's failure detection
instread of heartbeats.
