[~gaurav.menghani] the WAL refactoring is already on the master branch, do you
mean branch-1?
If you mean branch-1, I've been working on the cleanup in HBASE-11983 while
waiting for [~enis] and the phoenix folks to take a look at the scope of impact.
If we're reasonably sure they're going to be fine I can get a branch-1 backport
together in the first half of next week.
