The ASF release process now uses svnpubsub.
Anything that is stored under
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/hbase/
will be synched to the ASF mirror masters and thence to the external mirrors
Note: There is also a corresponding staging repo area at
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/hbase/
which can be used for release candidates.
If the RC vote passes, just rename the files to the release area.
Saves having to move the files around as much, and provides traceability back
to the VOTE e-mail.
