bq. Do you see some benefit over here?

If MSLAB is on all the time rather than an option, will it simplify write-path? 
If we can copy off the inbound socket to MSLAB (on/offheap), and then operate 
on MSLAB-backed Cells only, will that make write pipeline easier to reason 
about?
