Here is my suggestion:
Reset this discussion. All parties propose what you want to do. Do not use more
than 100 words to make your proposal. Spend effort to get maximum economy of
language. In this case discussion is not the best tool. Focus on code. Focus on
collaboration - by pull request. Review step by step. So maybe start again with
the feature branch and take it step by step.
