Yes, that is essentially the direction I had in mind. A Load Balancing Pipeline Run Configuration would probably be a cleaner abstraction than introducing a completely separate Remote Mapping transform. The main distinction is that I am not proposing that Hop automatically split an arbitrary pipeline across multiple servers.
