Jean-Baptiste Onofré commented on KARAF-7776:
---------------------------------------------

As you can see on the camel dev mailing list, I started to rework camel-karaf
to support camel 4 in Karaf.

See my WIP branch: [https://github.com/jbonofre/camel-karaf/tree/REFACTORE]

About CXF, I'm evaluating using CXF as private package.

For Jakarta namespace, we have a PR in progress to provide them as feature.

> For some time I am trying to find out what is the plan for Karaf CXF 4 and
> Camel 4 support.
> I appreciate it might be wrong place to ask this questions.
> However CXF-8723 does suggest this might be dependant on Karaf (for which
> reason OSGi support was apparently completely removed in CXF4 in CXF-8879)
> Also seen in Camel 4 release jiras/notes somewhere, that Camel community now
> refers to Karaf as "Legacy" platform.
> I was trying to google some future Karaf plans etc, can't see anything clear.
> I suppose question is, what are future Karaf plans?
