I was a part of that discussion. The problem of namespace collission with
cores is not introduced with this issue; it already exists with "lib" and
"configsets". This just adds another. I think the solution to _that_ problem
is putting the cores in a directory like "cores" underneath solr home. That
can wait till 9.0. Furthermore, configsets and the core root dir are both
configurable so users can put them where they please. filestore ought to be
similar but (a) it can wait till 8.5; really this stuff is experimental, and
(b) it's an opt-in system at present.
Please change the name back.
