We're at Cloudera are relying heavily on HDFS support. We understand that it's
a burden to support and we're happy to help with it.
We're not happy about the deprecation, but the amount of dependencies pulled in
by HDFS is outrageous.
I'd ask not to remove it until there is proper package manger support for the
functions it provides or needs.
