Jan Høydahl commented on SOLR-6152:
-----------------------------------

I tested it, and like the changes. A few comments:
 * The 'qt' field is blank, but that means implicitly '/select'. Can we add a
greyed-out text to the input box to show people what is the default, similar to
start/rows?
 * I think I'd prefer if the URL is updated on every 'Execute Query'. It is
possible to update the fragment part of the address bar without reloading page.
Benefit would be that Reload-page works as expected, and copying address bar is
also persistent. We could even get rid of the 'Copy link to this admin page'
button

> In some use cases, it is highly desirable to be able to pre-populate the
> query page of solr admin with specific values.
> In particular use case of mine, the solr admin user must pass a date range
> value without which the query would fail.
> It isn't easy to remember the value format for non-solr experts, so I would
> like to have a way of hooking that value "example" into the query page.
> See the screenshot attached, where I have inserted the fq parameter with date
> range into the Raw Query Parameters.
