I'd like to see this done right, so for #1 I would update to Cluster mode, and
leave a tip in the refguide "What we now call "Cluster Mode" is what
historically was called SolrCloud". This should also help in the SEO side of
things.. "How do I install SolrCloud" queries hopefully will eventually
become "How do I install Solr Cluster".
We can add a note in the `solr-upgrade-notes.adoc` about this, similar to what
we did when we moved to the "leader" and "follower" syntax instead of
master/slave.
Likewise, in #2, make the same change. Otherwise some poor dev in 4 years
will be wondering what the {{.cloud}} means!
