of lightgreen - it stands out, which is what we want, and it's light enough to
be readable.
But it's not really a complementary color, so if we care about that (which I
really only would if this top news row is going to be a permanent feature of
the new site), it'd be nice to look for something more coordinating.
When I've hit this problem in the past I've used a site Paletton
([https://paletton.com/index.html]) to get complementing colors to play around
with. The interface isn't entirely straightforward, but to the bottom left of
the color wheel you can enter the base color (in our case #D9411E, the color in
the header row), and then above the color wheel choose "Tetrad" (image with 4
points). That produces a 4-color scheme that's a little different than the
style guide, but all the colors work together so it's good for choosing one-off
highlight colors like what we need here. That gives us a palette like the
attached Paletton-color-scheme.html file that has a few alternatives.
The lightest of the suggested green colors is still a little dark IMO (#59BD81):

There is a suggested secondary color that's sort of a burnt-yellow-ish that I
think could work(#FFBF78):

But it's certainly not a decision that has to be made right now if this is
making progress more complicated - we could go with lightgreen now and change
it later if you just want to move forward with this part of the list of tasks.
