Right. So it's the same thing as with Sonatype's Nexus (OSS) - manual
close/promotion in the user interface. I'm not sure how ant was uploading Maven
artifacts but from within Gradle we can do it directly (the folder under
distribution can be created too but it'll be for human inspection only -
artifacts are uploaded directly from their build locations).
I should try to push a release one day, sure. The thing is - I hate doing it,
even at my daily job!... :)
