Interesting. It appears LUCENE-10372 was the cause of the regression in the nightly benchmarks (see most recent runs of the tasks mentioned [above](https://github.com/apache/lucene/pull/597#issuecomment-1010061194)). I can't understand why this would be, or why @gf2121 and I would both see significant performance improvements associated with LUCENE-10372 when run on our machines while the nightly run would show a regression. I guess we've got some things to figure out here :). As a reminder, I've got LUCENE-10372 open to track this investigation, but for now, I suppose we ought to leave this change reverted. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
