I don't understand the circumstances where C0664 doesn't work as it has on the systems I've tried. It's reported as a problem uploading to minotaur and a RHEL box by Trustin. I'll check. The reason not to apply the first patch immediately is that it will add an extra connection, further slowing an already sluggish deploy process.
