some ideas for things we'd like to know
- uptime (possibly persisted so as to calculate average uptime)
- duration of each discovery run to calculate the average time (possibly
trending over time)
- duration of each indexing run (as above)
- duration of each reporting run (as above)
- frequency of certain requests
- analysis of any other services
