Aaron Digulla commented on MNG-2436:
------------------------------------
I have now written my own proxy. See http://www.pdark.de/dsmp/
It's means to be used alongside a repo server like Archiva to control what and
how artefacts are downloaded from the Internet.
> Alternative to proxying or mirroring maven repos

> To minimise reliance on outside repos and to lower bandwidth externally from
> our network I wonder if maven could provide the following option:
> Whenever it downloads an artifact/plugin from an external server if could
> upload and install the artifact on another server's repository of the
> developers choice if it does not exist there.
> i.e. whenever I build code on my machine and a dependency changes and is
> downloaded to my local repository it is also installed to a central
> repository for our dev team.
> I know that another solution is to proxy the server, but this means we need
> to maintain a proxy that understands maven on the central machine.
