One option to improve this issue is to only modify the path after the hostname.
So for
http://fisheye.jboss.org/repos/labs/labs/jbossbuild/maven-build-test/trunk
This part
http://fisheye.jboss.org/
would stay the same, and this part
repos/labs/labs/jbossbuild/maven-build-test/trunk
Could be taken from the tag base.
