Marat Radchenko commented on MPMD-62:
-------------------------------------
Some additions:
This behavior can be disabled by default for backward-compatibility.
And <consoleOutput>true</consoleOutput> attribute should be added to enable
this behavior.
> pmd:check and pmd:cpd-check should print error details to stderr upon failure

> Key: MPMD-62
> URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MPMD-62
> Project: Maven 2.x PMD Plugin
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: CPD, PMD
> Affects Versions: 2.2
> Reporter: Marat Radchenko
>
> It would be wonderful if maven-pmd-plugin printed error details to stderr
> when pmd:check or pmd:cpd-check fails.
> This way it would be consistent with maven-checkstyle-plugin and maybe some
> others.
> Currentry we are having usability troubles when pmd:check fails on CI server
> because we cannot see errors in build log.
