The daemon accepts one connection at a time, so a client that connected and sent nothing held the accept loop indefinitely. The token read now gives up after 5 seconds. A connection that fails the token check is dropped without changing the daemon's state; it used to reset the daemon to Idle, which also released a newly started daemon that was still waiting for the client that started it.
