Item 12 of #1793. The *Settings Reference* says `aliases` and `repositoryOrigins` need Maven 3.10.0, but not what happens when the same `settings.xml` is used with 3.9: it warns `Unrecognised tag` and ignores the element. For `repositoryOrigins` that is harmless, since credentials still go by server ID; a repository that uses an alias as its ID gets no credentials at all. Verified: a repository stub that requires Basic authentication, with the repository ID set to an alias → 3.9.16 sends no credentials and fails with status 401, 3.10.0 and 4.0.0-rc-7 send them; with only `repositoryOrigins` set → 3.9.16 warns and still sends the credentials. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
