A page named `index.vm.md` is now a Velocity template, like `index.md.vm`, and renders to `index.html`. Editors choose the language from the last extension, so the `.vm`-first name opens as Markdown (or APT, XDoc) instead of plain text. Both spellings work in every format directory; if a page exists under both names, the existing duplicate check fails the build. A file named `*.vm.<extension>` was previously rendered without Velocity as `*.vm.html`, so a site with such a file gets a different page name. `site:run` takes the change with the next release, since maven-site-plugin builds against the released Doxia Sitetools.
