the source of the livelock is clear and I believe resolved. Will have a patch
for that soon. Basically the 'data' method was checking if stopped but then in
an offer call forever so if stopped after the initial check but while waiting
for space to be available (which it never would be since consumers were
stopped) it will just sit there. The solution appears as simple as stop
indefinite offer but rather offer in a loop and check if we should give up in
the loop due to stoppage.
