Reopened, argumentation in Comment 2 is wrong.
(a) As you can simply see with attached sample document, selection will
also select hidden rows (what might be an additional bug, I will
check that later):
(a1) Auto-Filter column "X" for "1" so that only Rows with "1" in column A
are visible
(a2) Select cells A2:C16
(a3) With Auto-filter: Show All
Also hidden rows have been selected
So suggestion with selection does not work
(b) even without problem (a) that would not work for most users, because
that options is not available for Find Toolbar
(c) MS Excel only will find in visible cells, what IMHO is more plausible,
and Users who come from Excel will be worried
(d) also LibO 4.1 behaves correct and only finds in visible cells
(e) but SoftMaker FreeOffice and Calligra find in hidden cells
but who is interested ..... ;-)
(f) additional related bugs are
"Bug 108087 - Find doesn´t work with filtered data" (with Patches!)
