Mark Robert Miller commented on SOLR-12386:
-------------------------------------------

Lastly, this stuff does cause issues at small scale as well. Maybe at a level
that most can live with. But let’s say you want very solid units tests (and
unit tests are running everywhere, all the time), if you really explore what it
makes to make them truly reliable, you can’t ignore this either. I could talk
all day about “optimizations”. Making gc beautiful, or hotspot happy. I almost
never have. That’s for solving use cases and customers. Every performance issue
I talk about 98% of the time ends up solving reliability and scale.

> Some tests, especially ConcurrentCreateRoutedAliasTest, have failed
> sporadically failed with the message "Can't find resource" pertaining to a
> file that is in the default ConfigSet yet mysteriously can't be found.  This
> happens when a collection is being created that ultimately fails for this
> reason.
