Matthew Biscocho commented on SOLR-18147:
-----------------------------------------
One of the panels I really like from the old one were things around state on
replicas from Solr. Problem is I think that info only came from the prometheus
exporter because it parsed a cluster state API and not metrics endpoint. I'd
like reintroduce those metrics back properly so they are actually exposed
letting us create things like state timelines of Solr from down to recovering
or active. But I guess until then that will be missing.

> Solr 10 removes support for the old /admin/metrics JSON format and also
> removes Prometheus Exporter. The {{/solr/admin/metrics}} endpoint will now
> return prometheus-format metrics, but with a completely new organization than
> before (OTEL native with labels etc). This renders the existing Grafana
> dashboard unusable, and we need a new.
> This task is to make a new dashbaord. Process
> # Solicit user experience / feedback about the old dashboard
> # Plan what the new dashboard should contain
> # Build and release the new dashboard
