Please do keep working on these sub tasks.  I'm going to create more sub tasks 
to cover other deprecated code that I find in main branch..  (which is now Solr 
11!).    Some of this may not be able to be backported to Solr 10, and some 
might, but for folks contributing, the important thing is to get the deprecated 
code dealt with in main branch.
